This is that classic example of the verbiage being used to describe a piece of legislation, being 180 degrees out of phase with its application. Core Curriculum, in a nut shell is the Obama Administration?s amendment to that Bush era piece of moronic legislation known as, ?No Child Left Behind,? The lessons to be learned here are numerous. Lesson One, baby gorillas grow up to be 800 pound gorillas. The legislation itself sought to do something good with a previously worthless boondoggle known as the Department of Education. The positive effects lasted only until the next group of bureaucrats took control, and presto chango, we have the very basis of evil now festering in our nation?s education system. I?m positive that George W. Bush did not have this in mind with his, ?Compassionate Conservatism,? which simply means govern as a Democrat on domestic matters, but the fact remains that this is as much his fault as it is Barack Obama?s. (Bush has made a plea for the GOP to return to, ?Compassionate Conservatism,? as a campaign plug for his brother, something I hope the remainder of the GOP rejects soundly.)
Lesson Two, the euphemistic descriptions given to laws has very little, if anything, to do with what the laws are designed to, or actually end up accomplishing. The Affordable Care Act has driven the prices for health care up well over 30% during the couple of birthdays it has enjoyed thus far, and every indication is that there is nothing that will slow, let alone reverse that trend as we march into that brave new future. The Race To the Top Legislation likewise has fomented a further deterioration in the quality of our public educational experience, and every indication is, that this race towards something less than mediocrity will only accelerate in the future.
Will Estrada has some insights as to the evils of this legislation, and why those ill effects will continue unchecked as we march towards that brave new future.

Estrada missed a salient point here, and quite frankly I?m surprised. That point is that this whole, ?your child belongs to the collective,? thing has been played out in prior societies during the course of human history. Adolf Hitler?s Germany, Josef Stalin?s Soviet Union, Pol Pot?s Cambodia, and Mao Tse Dung?s China to name the quickest four that rattled into my head. And for those of you who are about to argue that this time is different and that I?m simply an alarmist kook for bringing up the references, take a gander at what is being taught as a part of that Core Curriculum. It ain?t science and math. Global Warming Doctrine, UN Agenda 21, Communist Doctrine, are being used as the criteria to measure whether your children are adequately educated. What?s worse, these core standards are about to be inflicted upon both private and home schooled children as well.
It has gotten so bad in our nation?s schools in fact, the Department of Education is starting to pressure the College Boards people to reemphasize their ideas of what successful college students should know going in, from the old ideas of science and math to the more politically correct ability to spout Marxist Dogma.
Elections have consequences, and so does control of the educational system. The Department of Education needs to be eliminated, with control being returned to the local level, completely.
