ViaQuest was founded in 1999 for the purpose of managing one of Ohio's largest providers of services to adults with Developmental Disabilities.? Quest for Independence?operates day habilitation and vocational programs across Ohio with skills training including cooking, laundry, money management, fitness and computer use and vocational programs such as cleaning and janitorial services, furniture assembly and more.
The Program Specialist is responsible to provide direct services and supports to the individuals served, including, but not limited to: assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting in meal preparation, completion of various household tasks, and assisting with personal care assistance. This person will also be supervising, teaching, and assisting the individuals served in every aspect of his/her life, with the goal of fostering increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that the health and safety needs are met at all times.
Minimum 21 years of age. High School diploma/GED required and prior education/experience in services for individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. The Program Specialist must have a valid Ohio driver's license, full personal automobile liability insurance and a driving record which allows candidate to be covered by the agency's insurance policy. The candidate must be willing to transport individuals served and must have a cell phone and/or telephone and be accessible to supervisors and other employees. The Program Specialist must be responsible, mature, flexible and have a sincere desire to provide direct support to the individuals served. They must also possess positive interpersonal skills and work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, demonstrating a supportive attitude.
